[Updated] November 2, 2024. OCHA (Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs), a UN Organization established in 1998 and whose mandate includes the coordination of humanitarian response, policy development and humanitarian advocacy, listed Caritas Libmanan, one of OCHA’s implementors, as having complied with reporting its relief operations in the aftermath of Tropical Storm \u201cTrami\u201d in accordance with core humanitarian Standards.  OCHA functions to ensure among its humanitarian partners inter-agency decision-making in the responses to complex emergencies.<\/strong> <\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Responding to the emergency created by TS Trami, particularly in flooded areas of Camarines Sur,  and heeding the National Government of the Philippines\u2019 request for international support in these areas, OCHA has partnered with NGOs in supporting assessments of damages and needs and has coordinated with the government on the response.  In its assessment, OCHA reported that communities affected by the storm need food, water, shelter and medical support.  It also acknowledged that roads need to be repaired so people can access the markets.<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In its response to the emergency, OCHA reported that it has provided supplies such as hygiene kits and dignity kits, particularly in four municipalities of Camarines Sur within the territory of the Diocese of Libmanan, namely, Milaor, Minalabac, Pamplona and San Fernando.  Having conducted rapid needs assessment<\/em> (RNA), it appears that only Caritas Libmanan in Region V has supplied OCHA with data relative to the organization\u2019s emergency response in the affected areas as reflected in its report.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
