Prior to his ordination, he spent a year at the Bishop’s Residence for his pre-diaconate formation. During that period, he also served as a formator at St. James the Greater Minor Seminary (SJGMS) in Libmanan, the very institution where he had once been a resident seminarian.

Deacon Justin is only the second alumnus of SJGMS to be ordained, following Fr. Antonio Toledano Jr., who was ordained two years earlier. Although the Parish of St. Anthony of Padua has already produced two priests, this was the first ordination ever celebrated in its parish church. The celebration drew an exceptionally large congregation, with faithful from many parishes across the diocese gathering to witness this historic occasion.

The eldest of two children of Francis and Cristita Piolino, Deacon Justin began his priestly formation at St. Benedict Diocesan Seminary (SBDS) and pursued his philosophical studies at the Holy Rosary Major Seminary in Naga City. He later entered the Central Seminary of the University of Santo Tomas for theological studies. After taking a period of regency, he returned to SBDS, where he completed his theological formation in preparation for ordination.

Two weeks later, on July 18, 2026, the Diocese rejoiced once again as Deacon Rene Ramos, son of Renz and Margie Ramos, was ordained to the priesthood at the Parish of St. John the Baptist in San Fernando, Camarines Sur. It may be recalled that he had likewise been ordained to the diaconate in the same church on July 19, 2025. During his diaconate year, he served as a formator at St. James the Greater Minor Seminary and as assisting deacon at St. James the Greater Cathedral Parish in Libmanan.

While fulfilling his pastoral ministry as a deacon, Fr. Rene completed his catechetical studies at De La Salle University in Manila. In view of this academic preparation, he has also been appointed as one of the catechetical instructors of the SBDS Catechetical Institute in San Fernando.

In his homily during the priestly ordination, the bishop reminded the faithful that priesthood is fundamentally God’s gift. Through the sacrament of Holy Orders, a priest is consecrated to belong entirely to God and is configured to Christ so that he may represent Him among His people. No one, the bishop emphasized, can ever earn such a calling; it is received solely through God’s gracious election. Addressing the newly ordained priest, he also underscored the centrality of the Holy Eucharist in priestly life, reminding him that the Eucharist must remain his daily spiritual nourishment, echoing the teaching of the Gospel of John.

The bishop also noted with gratitude that this marks the third consecutive year in which the Parish of St. John the Baptist in San Fernando has offered a son to the priesthood. He thanked the parish community for its continuing generosity in fostering priestly vocations and serving the needs of the local Church.

Both ordinations were attended by large congregations of clergy, religious, family members, friends, and faithful from across the diocese. Many parishioners also came from the communities where the newly ordained ministers had previously served, reflecting the affection and support they had earned through their pastoral ministry.

At the conclusion of the ordination rites, the Vicar General, Fr. Alejandro Bisenio, announced the following pastoral assignments:

Fr. Rene Ramos – Parochial Vicar of the Parish of St. Joseph the Worker in Milaor and Formator of the Pre-Seminary.

Deacon Justin Piolino – Formator of St. James the Greater Minor Seminary and Assisting Deacon at St. James the Greater Cathedral Parish.

Fr. Neil John Bolocon – Administrator of St. Anthony of Padua Parish, Binahian, Sipocot.

Fr. Alfredo Baisa – Parish Priest of San Lorenzo Parish, GRS, Ragay.

Fr. Antonio Toledano Jr. – Administrator of St. Vincent Ferrer Parish, San Vicente, Libmanan.

Fr. Rexwilson Alto – Parochial Vicar of St. John the Baptist Parish, Sipocot.

Fr. Rico Itay – Resident Monk of Klooster St. Jozef and Administrator of the Visita de San Pedro Apostol in Anib, Sipocot.

(Also not included in the official announcement of pastoral assignments was the appointment of Fr. Roland Soliven. It was subsequently confirmed that, after serving on a temporary basis at St. James the Greater Cathedral Parish, he has now been given a permanent assignment there as Parochial Vicar.)

These ordinations stand as visible signs of God’s continuing call to generous service and of the Diocese of Libmanan’s steadfast commitment to nurturing priestly vocations. They are a source of hope for the entire diocesan community, affirming that the Lord continues to raise up faithful laborers for His harvest and to sustain His Church through the ministry of ordained servants.

The Diocese of Libmanan was blessed to celebrate two sacred ordinations this month of July 2026—one to the diaconate and another to the priesthood—marking significant milestones in the continuing growth of the local Church.
