Misal Romano sa Bikol Taon B Out of the Press

In time for the beginning of the new liturgical year on Sunday, the First Sunday of Advent, on December 3, 2023, the Bicol Regional Commission on Liturgy has released the new Misal Romano sa Bicol, Taon B, last Monday, November 27, 2023, for circulation. Similar to the Taon A edition, Taon B includes all Sunday masses and Solemnities Year B of the new liturgical year. Similarly some feasts of Saints, particularly the Patron Saints of the Bicol dioceses have been featured in this volume. The liturgies in honor of the more recently canonized saints, such as the second Filipino saint, San Pedro Calungsod, the three popes, John XXIII, Paul VI and John Paul II, the popular San Isidro Labrador, as well as the new obligatory memorial of St. Mary Magdalene, find print in its pages. The Order of the Mass and the presidential prayers have been translated based on the emended third typical edition of the Roman Missal, published in 2008, following principles of translation provided by Liturgiam authenticam, published in 2001. The Readings, on the other hand, were taken from the translation of Msgr. Noe de los Santos of the Diocese of Virac, based on the original Hebrew and Greek texts — with some modifications in both the text and orthography introduced by the translators and editors. In his foreword, Archbishop Rolando Tirona of Caceres, expressed hope that this new volume would inspire the faithful to more fully, actively, consciously, participate in the liturgy.
